No insult intended. I intended our to mean the bucket my wife and I own. I suppose I should have called it my bucket in the last sentence since the rest of the post referred to what I used for for carpeting.

Ron, you are right - I seem to inadvertently insult others even when I am trying to be self-deprecating. The Donk Bucket is another thing - I still like the concept and have been hoping you would find the time to develop a prototype. I wish you could work it into your schedule, which probably gives you some extra time after the long hours you spend running your business.

BTW, thanks for the time and effort you have spent to rescue this forum from the brink of collapse. We appreciate it because it is a great source of information for rookies like me and it would be a great loss for all bucketheads.

I have been a Bucketeer for a long time but I started late and have a lot to learn, so that's why I consider myself a rookie.

OK - If both Bruce and Ron both say so, I won't call myself a rookie any more.

Upholstery shop will have pure wool carpet relatively cheap. $30-40 will do your whole car. Mine is red and has no "edges", just run a bead of glue where the cuts meet and it will blend perfectly as if it's one piece.

I bought some backless carpet, it is thin and very similar to regular auto carpet. I was able to form over the trans hump without cutting or sewing. It also does not fray or unravel when cut. I plan to cut floor mats out of it also and use binding tape to sew around the edges for a more finished look.

    Try: Dark Grey Backless Carpet

It is backless carpet and probably thinner than one would like, but, very flexible, and I was able to carpet the bucket without and cuts or sewing, and it has a nice look.

I've had lots of floor treatments in the last 25 years. Here's a fun one:
