Maybe somebody from California can verify if this is fact or not.

HUGE California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011

Please be extremely careful in your driving and car registration &
insurance matters.  State of California is broke and they are trying
hard to squeeze all of us hard to collect money.
Effective immediately, if you do not stop at the red light, be ready to
pay $436 in fines or if you pass a school bus with flashing red signals,
you will be charged $616.  The state of California is going for blood,
so be extra careful in driving, You cannot afford messing with them.  I
have been hearing that Highway Patrols are under pressure to issue a lot
more tickets than last year with at least 30% increase in fines over
2009, so beware of radar guns, highway and traffic cameras installed
everywhere and the tougher enforcement of parking rules.
Just for your info, the next time you park in the handicapped zone,
even for a minute, you will be looking at almost $ 1000 in parking
tickets , so it'd better be worth it.

California needs money, so pay close attention to the rules of the
road!

Jim

Laws are getting worse for the average people of the U.S. Just think, a little more than a hundred years ago, there was no taxes, everyone had a job, the U.S. was building the interstate highways and our Gov'mt was not broke.

Jim, that doesn't surprise me a bit. Most states are bankrupt and simply don't care to admit it. Indiana is working on a bill to deal with 'insolvent' local governments. The press has labeled it a bankruptcy bill, which has some legislators studying at their shoes. But the fact remains that tax revenues are no longer enough to support state-subsidized programs, so something has to give. That something, of course, will be each state's taxpayers. By hook or by crook, the government will get theirs.

If Ron Paul finally manages to bring transparency to the Federal Reserve, we are all in for some eye-opening. Most Americans have no clue what the Fed really is and what it has been up to for the last 98 years. They hear the words Federal reserve and think the Fed is part of our government, when it has no more tie to our government than does Federal Express. Every bank in this country has to undergo audits, yet somehow the Fed is above that process? Gieusabreak! Billions of dollars have gone unaccountable, but every tax-paying citizen of this country is on the hook for every last cent. And we're meant to just look the other way?

Andrew Jackson reined in the Second Bank of the United States in 1836 and if we can finally see the Fed audited, I suspect it won't be long until the American people demand to see it ended as well.

And I better stop typing right now, before I start mentioning all the rotten politics of the last century, that have brought us to where we find ourselves. :rulz:

When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.

Maybe somebody from California can verify if this is fact or not.

Jim
Sadly, it's true. The state has a large financial deficit, which of course will be solved by taxing more and spending even more than that.

One Reason California is Broke and will Remain Broke- over 522 of these... :(

This and all the pensions that go along with them!! Any questions????

1/3 of all state taxes collected in 2009 went to the payment of pensions...

Let's just hope the Fed can keep on feeding The Pig!!!

That is UNBELIEVABLE. No wonder they are in such a mess. But I imagine all states are like that. Wonder if I can print that out?

Ted,

What? No "Agency for the reformation of old fart Hot Rodders" ? Hey, maybe you are just jealous because you are on the paying end and not on the receiving end of all those state funds...?... And I thought Arny would be the savior...:suicide:

This sucks big time,
Corley

California has tried for years to balance its budget by fining truckers, assuming that they would pay it and just figure it a business expense (but keep in mind fines are not deductible). We have dealt for years with $1000 fines for exceeding 50 mph averages in our logs and other silliness. The result is that many owner-operators don't go to CA any more, and the companies that do go insist on higher rates and a guaranteed return load. The result? More cost to the consumers in CA.

Calif, is not a business friendly State, no way shape or form... :(
Depends on the business. If you're an attorney or an insurance company this is the place to be. My workers' comp. for this year nearly doubled, even with no claims, and when I ask my attorney if there is anything that can be done, he charges me $300.00 per hour to tell me tough s**t!!

I believe this is "loosely" a quote from margret thatcher, Socialism is a wonderful form of gov't, untill you run out of someone else's money. pretty much says it all.

dave

Calif, is not a business friendly State, no way shape or form... :(

Have you seen the new semi-trailers with skirts along the bottom? That is a California requirement. Add in the required retrofitting to 2007 standards (particulate filter, etc.) on any rebuild of a diesel engine made before 2007, plus the upgrading of all refer units to current standards, and you're looking at a transportation disaster in California over the next 3 years.

Add in the easy access to disability, and you have a reluctance of the major truck lines to hire drivers who live in California, so the state is giving away jobs to the surrounding states.

And that's not even discussing the fact that almost all the majors have their drivers fuel up before entering California and NOT fueling in the state unless absolutely necessary, and you have all the inbound trucks burning non-California fuel, thwarting CARB's efforts.

Do you begin to see the pattern here? The only state that trucking companies want to go to less is Oregon, where the fuel tax is the highest in the country, almost 3 times the next highest state.

Not sure if you guys know but we have just had our VAT (sales tax) put up to 20%.Thats 20% on everything you buy except food kids cloths and newspaper. On top of this we have a fuel tax so gas is now around £6.00 per gallon... yep that around $10.00 a gallon.
No idea how much more our governments can take off us but people are getting a little bit 'unhappy' here.
Gerry
In the wonderful 'Old country'

I might also mention many of the book writers and historians are also from California. Think the Civil War started over slavery? You would be wrong. It started over State's rights and independence. A bit more complicated than that, but you get the drift. Fly a Confederate flag in any major city, and before you pull your truck in the driveway, you'll find your house full of protesters and probably all your windows broke out of your house. Carry a gun in your car, you'll spend 6 years in prison and a fat cat attorney will own your home. Clean a weapon outdoors, and a neighbor sees you from their balcony, you stand a good chance being shot dead. You think the police will ask questions, you're wrong!!

Allen, I don't know where you live, but here in NW Louisiana, we do all those things and no one even gives you a second look,.
