You'll note several topics around here have YouTube or Vimeo players embedded in the posts. It's scary simple to accomplish the same thing in your own posts.
Nintey-nine times out of 100, if you just copy the YouTube URL into the post, the forum software is going to sort what you're trying to do and will embed the video in a player.
That is all you need to paste into the post.

(And no, I don't have a clue about about Annie, but Lisa Gallant [the braw, wee lass playing guitar] is about as fine a Cape Breton step dancer as you'll ever find. And she can dance until, uhhhh, the sun comes up tomorrow morning. :hot: )
Sometimes, as you're browsing about on YouTube, you will discover a lot of code being added to the video URLs. Here is an example -
We don't want any of that &feature=related business. Everything west of that ampersand is what we need.
Now, every now and again, you're going to find a video that simply will not embed in a player. So here's how to get around that problem -
Clicking on the indicated icon will open up the following menu -
And since you are trying to insert a media file, you will want to click on Media, as highlighted above.
From there, all you need do is paste in the video's URL, click OK and you're finished.
If you're like me and don't want to waste time looking for buttons, you can just wrap the video URL in media tags.
So if this URL won't embed in a player -
Try this -
1. Try the raw URL, as it will work in most instances.
2. Use the Media BBCode Insert.
3. Just type the media tags yourself.
