Interior

Masonite is pretty brittle. You might be able to score the backside and bend it without breaking. Another way I've heard of is getting the Masonite good and wet to make it pliable and then let it dry in position. I don't know if this will work or not. I would choose luan plywood. It bends a little easier and is what most upholsterers use.
 
Using a thin plywood will do the job as long as you score it in a patern of your bend it also helps it if you soke it in water that will give it more flexablity.If I can find the photos of mine while I was installing mine I will post some pic's
