Ordered Jegs brake fitting adapter -4an male to 7/16 -24 female inverted flare.
555-100783. This goes under the frame to connect the braided lines to the
    hard line.
My 1/4" steel brake line will not tighten down with this. Tried other lines and they
    Will not also.

What am i doing wrong ? Summer will be over before i am done.

Should you have a 1/4x4an fitting?

The brake line nut is 7/16-24, ok the union i bought is a 1/4" (7/16-24).
The jegs adapter is for a 3/8" line. It does not say that on the package.
    Now back to where can i buy a 1/4" 7/16-24 adapter ?

What length nut are you using? short or long? maybe this adapter requires a long(er) nut? Try a name brand like Russel or Earls.

image.jpg Here is the adapter next to a 1/4" tee. Would changing to a
3/8 line be ok when the rest of the system is 1/4" ?

Would make spongy pedal. Ask Jeg's for the correct T fitting. That one is not correct.

The size of the brake line has no bearing on whether or not the pedal is spongy.,..,where do you get this stuff ??

Where is that adapter ? The Jegs tech said they do not have one to replace what i ordered. Dorman makes a brass adapter. I need a 4an to 7/16-24 with a 1/4" line

That is what I have. It has a 7/16-24 thread and a 3/16 line flare not a 1/4 line flare.

Why are you using 1/4" brake line instead of the more common (at least I think) 3/16" line?
Well read this, pay attention to illustration #4 , might be better (easier) to change the nut or change it to a female on the line end.

For some reason the whole car is 1/4" line. Plus its a single cylinder. I tried to
Go back to a union under the body but could not get it loose with the limited
space. That line is to long going out under the radiator. So it needs cut and
flared then reduced to 3/16. The only other thing to do is find 22" rubber line that looks like this. image.jpg

You have to give us a little help here. Maybe I missed to what caliper or slave cylinder you are trying to mate to? What make/brand of M/C?

Wanted to use same size so used a 4 an hose. Now looking for an adapter.

Finally found an adapter. XRP 402933, -3 male to 7/16"-20
Worked great until the rear cylinders were frozen then the
master cylinder leaked. All replaced and working now.
    Thanks for all the tips.
