spindle/brake?

Hi my car is a total performance kit for the early 80's with spindle mount wheels and brakes. thinking about going to a different wheel & tire. so my question is what spindles do i have they look like total performance 49-54 chevy? if they are total performance are they already machined and are they car or truck? thank you

OK, I have a question related to the spindle mount wheel brakes: I have a set of original American Racing 12 spoke spindle mount wheels that I am considering installing disc brakes on. Has anyone installed one of Wintec's or Speedway's (Wildwood/Airheart) spindle mount brake kits on similar old unmachined wheels? If so, What is required besides the obvious drilling/tapping, etc? Does anyone have any better options for this? I am weighing my options at this point prior to pulling the trigger on a huge parts order, so once I get started, I can actually get stuff done. I am wrestling with the decision between updating and preserving the car verses a total makeover.

Wheels need to be machined. Get Wintec's wheels and sell your Americans on epay to pay for them.
