Happy Birthday from Race City USA, Mooresville, NC!

It’s funny that there is a lot of “old man” being thrown around. Truth is, probably most of us are!! And proud of it!! I’d imagine the average age is in the 60-70 + range.

I think you’re right. Most bucket fans remember the old days when they were the answer to cheap performance. People were starting to realize weight counts and buckets were the answer.

When I built my first bucket almost 60 years ago, I was an apprentice Tool and Die Maker, earning just a few dollars per hour. Somehow I was able to afford to buy all the parts I needed. I did have the advantage of being able to make many of the parts I needed. I had access to all the machines I used.
Somewhere the prices of everything (material, components, paint) skyrocketed out of sight.
I’m starting to sound like my father!
“When I was a kid, blah, blah, blah”. I built my current bucket over 40 years ago before the prices exploded!!
I’m tired of typing. Happy days!
