What are your experiences?
Pros, cons?
How about power? Is a 140 hp. enough to keep up with most new cars?
I would think hp to wt ratio should still make them quick.
I have found a slant six and trans, I think that would make a good build.
I want to make it drive able, and hope it still has enough hp to keep it exciting.
Thanks, jpm

I have seen a few with six cylinders before and they look good. I drove a friends T with a four cylinder and it was plenty fun to drive. I say build it!

Sixes have plenty of scoot for these cars. My father has a '54 Chevy with a stockish 235 six and it goes down the road great...and that's a 3500lb car...

Back in the 80's I had a mid-size Plymouth with a 225 slant six. Probably at least 3000 lbs and about as aerodynamic as a brick. That little 6 moved the car down the road like a small v8. No problem keeping up with traffic at all. Considering that most T's weigh less than 2000 lbs with the driver, you should have plenty of power.

The 6 in my Plymouth had a 2 barrel carb from the factory. Add a small cam, good exhaust and an aftermarket 4 barrel intake and you could probably surprise a lot of folks with bigger engines.

@jpm, since you already have a thread running with the same information, I'm not really sure why you've started a second thread. I am going to lock this one down and suggest everyone continue to address your questions in the original thread. That way, everyone can be sure all relevant discussion can be found at just the one resource.
