You must consider the width of your rear end and the width of your body along with the width of your rear tires in order to determine the back space of your rear wheels. That said, I'm using a 2WD S10 rear with 285/70x15" tires mounted on 15"x10" rims with a 4" back space. The width of the turtle deck at the center line of the rear end is 31 1/2". Check the picture.

On the front I'm running 155/80x15" tires on 15"x4" wheels with a 2" backspace.

Here is a front view.

Here is a close up of a head on view of the front wheel. Notice that the Chevy rotor is "tucked" into the wheel and not hanging out there.

I hope that this will help you in making a decision.

I'm sure there are lots of answers to this one. I have always been mostly concerned with the clearance between the body and the tire, at least in the rear. Does this help?

Glen, if you have a Total car with front steer steering arms and their supplied 8" Ford rear. Then look at 15x5 reversed steel wheels with 2" back spacing for the front and 15x10 with 3 1/2" for the rears.
