Ok one last time what is the best angle for caster i've heard from 1 degree to 10 degrees.

I would have to say about 5 degrees is right when you get much more it will effect steering in sharp turns and follow the road grooves. On regular cars I like to put a little more on passenger side for crown in road.Good luck with that on a solid axle.

I had a friend that used to run Bonniville and He told Me that 1 1/2 drgrees is all thats needed to run well over 100.. It seems to depend on just what book you read... As far as hot rod car books go, they mostly print what people tell them what works good for them. I will have to read up on it again in a real good suspension book... Now your caster should be easy to adjust, with the length of your seperate radius rods, top and bottom.. I hear that a lot of street people run about 5 degrees, What do you think, George? :sofnny:

After dicking with it for half a day i get between 5 and 51/2 degrees i'm going to leave it as some one said 3 to 7 degrees is ok.

Akita was asking for explanation or drawing.

Rick,

At right height 5+ degrees is a good number for most Ford hot rod cars pere Pete & Jakes catalog and I agree with that.

Just for your information, I put 30-35 degrees in all of the T/F dragsters I built. The few F/Cs had anywhere from 25 to 32 degrees depending on physical strength of the drivers. You could basically throw the steering wheel away at mid track as it would track like on a rail.
Hope this will help.

George

Cool George thats all i wanted to know i have between 5 and 6 so i'm gonna leave it.Thanks

don't know whats best but CCR plans call for 8 to 10 degrees of caster when they make their front axle and rr bracket. And thats whats in mine.

i would think anything less than 3 degrees would be hard to handle at low speeds. i may be wrong but i have found 5 degrees to give the best performance around town and on the road.

Ron

Thanks Ron its at 5-51/2 degrees now. That should be ok right?

that's where i run 'em rick.
