I stand corrected. We used to run the old 392" Chrysler hemi on fuel where they made decent horsepower for their time.

On parts washer (gasoline) they really didn't make much power. For all these years I've referred to the early hemi's as 395 lbs of low performance cast iiron.
I see they weigh less. Ho-hum.

Actually I didn't see the 392 listed for some reason, but even the 331 is shown at something like 730 lb. now THAT took american muscle to move.

as an aside. I remember hearing an analogy refering to the power of gasoline once. went something like. "powerful enough that when just one gallon is ignited, it can hurl a 3000lb chunk of steel up to 30 miles away."
