With the taper on the bottom it kinda hides the front of the frame with the suspension on it. It looks great but dosen't stick out.

How long are your tapers? I do mine so they end about 3" in front of the firewall, the same area as my hairpins and steering box mount.

have not done the tapers on the tube. going to look and see when we weld it up my be next weekend.

order my front spring perch from ron this morning. 2 inch drop for the 2 inch tube i'm running. when i get it i'm starting on building the frame. will take pictures and post them.

Here you go;

The trick to this is getting the top of the rail flat. If you cut both rails and clamp them top to top then stich weld them in 3 stages you shouldn't have any problem. HRS tubing has a lot of stress in it from the forming process. You'll see this when you split the tube. The 2 pieces left will curl apart.

I discribe the whole process of tapering in the "Plans". You can down load them by clicking on "How to build a T-Bucket Roadster at the top of the page to the far right. Scroldow about half way and you'll find it. It's a free download.

i got them a few weeks ago. only axle i have found around here so far is a dodge truck one it has a little over 2 inches of factory drop. thanks for the plans. i don't think i'm going to taper as far back as your but i will do something to make it look better than just leaving it hang.
