Fuel lines and battery cables

Just a quick question.

With the battery and fuel lines on the same side of the vehicle, whats a safe distance between the battery cables and fuel lines run down the side of the frame?

With only 3 inches to work with, how do you all run them? Are you using the double clips that hold them about an inch apart?

Keeper, I have about 1" (maybe less) between my battery holder and the fuel line, which is mounted on the inside of the frame. I used a small spacer between the frame and the battery holder. No problems so far. As long as the battery holder is mounted solid, you should have no worries.

I would not be too concerned with how close they are to each other. What I feel is more important is that they are mounted securely and that there are no interferences that would cause an abrasion to either the fuel line or the battery cable. In other words, don't be afraid of using too many clamps. You'll need more on the cable than on the line because the cable is not as rigid as the line and will tend to flex causing it to fail. You can check out my mounting in the picture below.

If you run brake lines, battery cables or fuel lines UNDER the frame rails, it can be a pain when you want to raise the car and put jack stands under the frame. Don't ask me how I know.
