Gas Shocks

Gas "filled" shocks are like the ones we normally use on our suspensions, if you compress them half way and let them go they will stay in that position, and gas "charged" shocks are the ones that resist compression, and when you do compress them and let them go they spring back to their full length. Do I have that right?

gas filled & gas charged are the same and they do extend on there own hydralic shocks are the ones that stay where you compress them to

Strange. I have a pair of gas shocks and they stay where you put them. Gas rams return on thier own.
 
Not to hijack the thread, but which ones do we want for the front ends of our buckets, gas or hydraulic?
