The front shocks were born out of neccessity. The headlight stands sit quite a ways back and I made them from sheet metal. They will hold the headlights up just fine, but not shocks. So, I saw a three hole spring shackle in Speedway's catalog and bought two of them. The angle looked the same to me whether in the upright position or in the layed down position. I was told you can mount shocks any way you want EXCEPT straight up. No theory or desigh, just how it turned out.
