I would like to know what everyone is using for your turn outs. I see they have the 20'' and 26''.
I have a TP car but, do not have the headers or turn outs yet. I want to do it once and done!
any help would be nice.

Thanks,

Mark

They say that one picture is worth a thousand words so this might help you decide. My headers are from Speedway with a 26" muffler/turnout. You must take into consideration that my car also has the cowl extended 6".

Don't know if it matters to you but , if you want to pass a NSRA safety inspections , the pipes must discharge behind the doors [or where the door would be]. Believe me , get as long a turnout as you can , even w/the long pipes the "drone" is deafening on a long trip !!!

My car has passed the NSRA Safety 23 Inspection. As you can see in the picture, the end of the pipe is at the rear edge of the "door" line. Had I kept the '23-'25 style door line rather than making a '26-'27 style, the tip would have been even further aft of the door line.

Here is 26 inch turn outs on the sprint style headers.

I have the same thing keeper has, but with a 10"extention of the body, my turn outs don't get to the rear of the door. Guess I'll have to wear earplugs.

With the muffler inside my turnouts neither my wife nor I have noticed any undo noise. We are able to talk with ease and have experienced no discomfort over extended rides. Perhaps if I were to eliminate the muffler then there would be a problem as I noticed on my maiden voyage just up the street and back. It just sounded loud and ignorant to me and with the muffler installed there is a nice low rumble which I much prefer.

I put in the auger type mufflers speedway #910-13984 3.5 inch I was concerned they might hurt my mileage or heat things up but they work fine.
