Been lurking and learning on here for a while now. I'm into my second year on a Roadster 1-20-14 5.JPG build where I've redone about 95% of the original body and built (building) the chassis.

Here's a couple of recent pics.5-18-14 3.JPG6-8-14.JPG

Yes, thank you. I started with an ebay body and widened it 9". Then made a plug (prototype) of the back end. Then a mold of that and then the final piece. The rear is made to hold Toyota Solara taillights.

The front cowl plug was built on the body. Then molded, and a final piece. The windshield frame is copied from a '68 Bug Convertible and chopped 4 1/2".

Then the new front was joined up with the rear of the body.

Lots and lots of work. I don't think I would attempt it again.

Yea, I have NO place for a panhard. I hope it works. It's part of the spring clamp plate with a Derlin slider.

You've DEFINITELY taken the "dare to be different" to new heights and you've accomplished it with a great level of skill and craftsmanship. My hat's off to you and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Jim

Looks GREAT1 Also, have you been building boats for a living? Home molds are hard to make, and I guess you have worked with 'glass a while.

Yea that ain't his first rodeo.

Thanks for all the kind words. I did some mold making when I was a kid. But that was 35 years ago. The real deal is that I'm a bit crazy and stubborn as hell. The more challenging the task, the more I want to do it.

ANYONE who owns a T-Bucket is CRAZY!! It's just a special kind that takes most of us back to a time when the original hot rod was the only way you could afford it and be cool at the same time Some of us spend more on our hot rods than you could go and buy a new Camaro or a ZO6 Corvette for. It's our preference, tho that makes us happy.

Wow....that is very impressive. I learn so much watching the skill of some of the guys on here.

I'm really looking forward to watching this one.

I've got a drawer full of receipts that I'm afraid to even add up. And it's my desk at work, not at home.

Very impressive! Your skill level is amazing. I can tell you love your work. Keep the pics coming.
