Holley throttle shaft bushing replacement

Looking for a simple way to install these nylon bushings (4160), i don't want to go to the expense of brass bushings just yet. Thanks, Keith

The nylon just wraps around the shaft.

You will need to carefully grind the peened ends of the throttle blade screws, in order to get them out. Once you have the blades out, pull the shaft and wrap the new bushing strips around the shaft. When you go to fit the blades back to the shaft, work slowly, to be sure you don't end up with a mis-aligned blade, which will cause the shaft to stick open. I always use the old screws to get things aligned. Once you get the blades aligned, pull the screws out, one at a time, and replace them with a new screw, that you will need to peen. If you do not want to do that, Loctite Stud and Bearing Mount (red) is your friend.

You obviously want a very positive throttle return spring set-up, but don't get carried away with spring pressures, as it will just eat up the bushings all over again.

Thanks for your suggestion Mike---Keith

Also , be sure to put the throttle blades back in the same position , as the blade edges are slightly angled to promote sealing..
