A lot of people wood the inside of the body . But has anybody wooded the inside of a fiberglass bucket like a wooden canoe like in the pic and left it wood and varnish.

beautiful work there!!, but not very practical IMHO (for canoe or interior). My grandfather was a master at laminating various varieties of wood together and then turning it it the lathe. came out with the most amazing patterns for everything from salt and pepper shakers to harps. I've done some small pieces myself, but I doubt I'd have a T bucket interior like that done before I was too old to drive anymore. :ciao: I made a Kayak paddle once, and it was amazingly strong.

I don't know, I have sat in some very comfortable wooden chairs. Would take a ton of work, but certainly would be different.

Not sure you would even glass over it, just bond it to the glass on the back side and sand/shape it, then a ton of coats of marine varnish.

It could be done but I certainly would not want to be the one doing it!

That would look like a work of art ! My StepGranddad built an arched top cedar chest out of 1"x2" scraps given to him back in the 50's and it looks awesome, a "T" done that way would too.

As mentioned, some chairs are very comfortable when fabricated in wood. You could also include a lumbar support. The different types, and colors of woods make a project like this endless. Like most things in life, it wouldn't be for everyone. I would coat the top layers with the West System. It's used in the vintage boat circles, and holds up better than the old stain, and varnishes of years ago. I built hydroplane race boats for years, and we stopped using varnish decades ago. Remember to use a sealer on the wood to fill in the grain, and with multiple layers of the West System topping it off with a good top clear coat just like painting your car. The vintage hydroplanes of today took like a piece of museum furniture when there completed.
Good luck with your project
