Body mount pucks

My body is mounted with small pucks between the floor and the frame rail. It seems one of them on the driver side has broken or gone away somehow, causing a slight "sag" on the left side. I dread the thought of removing the body to replace it. Any creative ways I might approach this with less hassle than removing the body?

The puck was sandwiched between the top surface of the frame and the bottom of the floor. Can you crawl under and reach the puck area from there? Maybe jack up the body a small amount to take the pressure off. I’m sure the mounting bolt went from the top down, through the floor, the puck and then into the frame. I’m not sure of your design. Mine has 4 rubber donuts sandwiched between the body floor and the top of the frame. I’m pretty sure I could get to my mounts from underneath. The only thing preventing that happening might be my old body ( not the bucket’s)! Good luck.

Treat it like a pickup bed.
Loosen all the bolts and remove the one that needs a new puck. Use a wedge shaped piece of wood between the body and frame to slightly separate them. It should only take a fraction of an inch. Slide the new puck in. Use a screwdriver to align the hole, then install the bolt. Remove the wedge. Tighten them all back up.

I'd try to inspect the other pucks. If one is broken, the others may be close to failing. If it's the typical hard rubber, they tend to crack from the outside to the hole, then thru the other side splitting in half. Each half can then fall out.

Spanky if you will load it on a trailer & bring that car down here, I will put it on the Hoist in my Shop Fix it & then you can drive it home........LOL..............................

Mike, that would be a dream trip, mostly just to hang out with you. Unfortunately it won't happen, but I love the idea.
