Liquid Nails

I just wonderred if anyone has tried using liquid nails or something like that to bond wood to fiberglass? I wouldn't suggest it for anything major, like a floor, but for some smaller pieces where there isn't any real strain on the wood, could it be used? Like for example, if putting a plywood panel behind the glass firewall to be used for mounting stuff, it seems like it might do the job. I've not checked how it bonds to fiberglass, but boy, that stuff really bonds to wood! Just curious...

I used liquid nails to bond the wood to glass prior to glassing. At areas where I only used adhesives and no glassing, I used Gorilla Glue. Now that stuff is strong! I like it because it expands slightly as it cures and fills any voids and makes an incredibly strong bond. I used it (along with a few screws) on my seat bottom, wood around the edge of the body, etc.

One of the things I like about Liquid Nails is they tell you on the label what it is good for and what they don't want it used for. The don't use it for information has a bit to do with liability as too many people don't use products properly.

Not me though, it's why I don't bother getting a receipt from the liquor store.... I know it's going to work.

I made an alignment plate for my fiberglass lid on my truck .The lift handle was binding so i made this plate to keep the handle shaft straight. I raise the lid on my truck 2-10 times a day 6 days a week. Its stuck on with Liquid nails 8 years ago upside down with no other attachment hard ware. BUT i use the high strength kind very strong odor.

Rooster you helped me decide, if you like it I will use it. Got a gallon left over from a panelling job in a bedroom.
