Love T-buckets

I would not make those choices, but you can bet the first drive around the block was still exhilarating!
We live in a time where it's less frequent to tie up a bunch of time and money into a road vehicle that is less practical than a 20 year old Basic Transportation Unit.
If the owner is being relatively safe😉, having fun 😅 and putting a smile on someone's face as they go by, Great!
If it's such a basic simple creation that it gets a bystander thinking " I could do that" it might even bring another gearhead into the life.

As punk rock was a reaction to masters of composition, instruments and production, a basic hot rod is saying I want to do it too in reaction to SEMA and Riddler winners. I appreciate those efforts, but I wanna kick up some dust and not worry about perfection.
It's about having fun in a way that suits your fancy.

I don't know how that term is taken here. It's verboten on the other site.
Here are a couple I captured at a show a year ago. They probably fit the broad definition of the term. Still look like fun.

I would not call either of these as RR. They both are what I would call low-budget builds. Get it together and drive it while saving up enough money for paint.

I agree. The term was derisive, then embraced, then applied to a wide variety of cars. It spawned it's own style which evolved and had a magazine.
It's like art or porn, it depends on the viewer.
I have opinions on style, design and finishes, but it's only my take. I would not put that first example in RR status either.

Language changes over time. Each person's usage and understanding of words varies. I find it something that often is discussed to try to clarify or confirm, but often ends up the same or worse.
Do T-Buckets have only beds or are turtle decks allowed? How about nothing back there? What about a 26-27 with a track nose and hood? Does it have to be a Ford or can you use any 1920s runabout/roadster body? How about fenders and running boards? Most of us have boundaries, but the lines aren't always uniform.
