Love to be Different

Its been awhile since I visited this site. I figured I would update everyone on how the straight eight rat is doing. It went on the road last spring after 6 weeks of dealing with Ohio BMV to get a title. The inspection wasn't bad but it took a while to get them to check and see that a 1927 t didn't have a serial number on the body, it was on the frame and engine and didn't have either one. But I finally got thru it and made a few shows this year. Now I am working on a new intake and header , I had to leave it stock to get thru inspection . I am going with 4 strombergs(2 blocked) and eight pipes hanging out the side. I ended up with a Bendstens adaptor and turbo 350 GM 10 bolt , 41 I beam , Posie spring . Its just a Rat but it sure gets lots of attention wherever I take it. I attached a pic. Let me know what ya think. Its all steel no Glass.

Looks good to me. One thing I have noticed going to rod runs, as soon as a RR pulls in and parks, your lucky to even get close enough to look it over because of the crowds around them. As long as it is safe to drive, I think they are great.

here is a side view so you can appreciate the length of a straight eight. I agree on the safe part. it has power brakes disc on the front drum rear and everything is put together right.

It is a riot to run around in. I am gonna swap the tires out yet. I think it needs wide white walls and the wheels that are on it go back on my elcamino. That old straight eight runs down the road at seventy with out even trying . It was(is) a fun project and it always draws a crowd, especially the older guys that realize its a 8 and not a 6 setting in there.I have heard all kinds of stories about the old days and enjoy every one of them.

Yes, the wide whites would fit the theme better I think. There are so many cool things you can do with the exhaust and intake on that engine too! Endless possibilities!

I love cars with a straight 8 in rat. They always have that long black train look. Me likes:thumbsup:
