Master cylinder plunger rod

Ron can you tell me where you source your Master cylinder plunger rods from? Do you just make them yourself?

The only one I can find around here is a "Universal kit" no way I am paying $75 for a rod and a clevis!

Not to many cars in the yards around here with manual brakes. :|

I use a OEM rod cut and welded into a tube. Most of the time I need a longer rod and feel more comfortable with a little extra strength.

I have made a ton using grade 5 bolts, long and longer, I leave the threaded portion for the female Heim joint, cut the head off the other end and taper and round that end as needed... If it needs to be real long I usually use a small tube to lengthen the rod/bolt 5/16 or 3/8", female or male, whichever Heim works easiest for you . :)
