I orderd a metal trunk lid for my fiberglass 27 roadster body and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how to go about this project.. ive got higes and a latch..im just concerned about how sturdy the body will be after I cut a huge section out of the back.. Has anyone done this successfully?

only pic I could find right now. cut mine out and used the removed part as the lid.
If you use a thin blade in the jig saw it will work.
mine is hinged in the rear because the fuel tank didn't leave room for hinges.

So its almost like a rumble seat lid?. What did you use to hinge the bottom of the lid to the back of tge car?.. Great pic!

I'm going to use hinges from the rear back glass from a explorer.
I sanded the black coating off and polished them.

The lid itself is good, I added 3/4" wood for the floor and sides to support the body.
You can always glass some wood to the lid if you feel it is to weak.
