Model A rear spring and cross member

I've got a model A rear crossmember and a rear spring with 3 leaves ......which creates a gap between the bottom of the spring and the U-bolt brackets. I do have the remaining leaves that were removed and not sure if those would have to be added to fill the gap which defeats the purpose of running less leaves. Any ideas?

Craig ... Go to search and enter "A spring in a t bucket" ... you should find the answer there.

Thanks Ron.....I knew you had written something on that previously and I searched the Suspension Discussion section endlessly but it was in the Suspension Articles section.
Didn't what to do with those extra leaves, but now I know.

One thing, the photos you included in that article had expired.....any chance of posting them again?

Happy new Year, and I do think you will probably need 5 leaves in the end at least, of course it will depend just how much stretch you have with your shackle mounts... What ever the stock width was for mounting {CRS}is what it should be set at, unless you had the main leaf narrowed..
