We just finished what we plan on being our last house. My wife got the house she wanted and I spec'd the garage. It's 24x48 with the front half used as a garage and the back 24x24 is my shop/mancave.

I plan to park the Jeep outside and build the Tbucket in that space. The back half is mine.....no bikes, no mowers, nothing....just manly stuff!

Wow. Nice view and awesome shop. But if you're like me and the majority of car guys, that man space will get smaller and smaller as you collect more parts and swap meet bargains you just couldn't do without :roflmao:

And FWIW, here's the view coming up the rode to the house.

That is truly a beautiful view! I moved out in the country (I thought) in 2003 and since we remodeled the entire farm and got settled, it seems everyone followed me and my serenity is being challenged...lol, I want to move further out. I hate moving, that is the biggest hook. I am seriously considering a second winter home down south as soon as my daughter finishes high school. Nice place, enjoy it!

I love my 300 ultra mag. Great fun but painful to shoot enough to dial in!
I like firing my high powered rifles, but it's hard to find a safe place to do it around here anymore due to their range. Also, the cost and availability of ammo is becoming unrealistic, not to mention the rotator cuff issue.

I just reread my post above.........rode? Why the heck does my mind work that way....My fingers type different words than my brain tells them too. ROAD......

Don't know much about those magnum cartridges but I favor the the old 45-70 rounds. Got two Marlin lever guns and one Ruger #3 falling block. That Ruger is a lite weight with a military style crescent shaped butt plate and it will remind you of how much powder you're touching off. The Marlins are my favorite to shoot but they to will serve notice of your age and pain level. Doesn't take much time on the range to have all the fun I can stand. Meant to get a 45-70 barrel for my Contender hand gun but never got around to it and now at my age I probably won't. Well as long as I don't run across one I won't! Hard to but ammunition across the counter for that round in the past few years. Use to see it at Walmart here in Arkansas during hunting season in several brands and bullet designs but not so much anymore. They do have a bear season but I have no interest in bothering them and they don't bother so. I did get a cub on Labor Day 2005 or 2007. Came around a tight curve descending the mountain when I spotted him in the roadside ditch. I wasn't running very fast as I was in my 1 ton flat bed in 2nd gear when he came out and crossed in front of me. I saw him go under the front end just in front of the right wheel and felt a lite thump. Looked out my drivers door window and he came rolling out. He stopped look back at me and said a few curse words in bear talk and hauled his little carcass on down the mountain. Glad I didn't hurt him and real glad I didn't meet his mama! As for deer collisions..It's not if you hit one, it's when you will hit one. I think that's part of living there. I think my brother has hit 5-6. I know he got two at one time several years ago. Part of living in that type of country I suppose. Take care.
