New Project

Quick Intro, My name is Ben and I am in Louisiana
I am not new to street rods or T buckets, but this will be my 1st build

The basis for my project is a little more "project" than I wanted, I was looking for someone's unfinished car-wanted a full roller minus the engine and trans. but didn't have any luck finding one.
I found my body and frame on Craigslist for a song, the frame is decent but basically bare, it has the front spring perch and suspension tabs but they are in the wrong locataion for set-ups I have found-stuff like the radius rods would be over 40" long where the tabs are.... The body is new but has been channeled and don't know if it will work or not, they cut a chunk of the back out, to the point that it is possible to get 3/4 of the "z" inside the body. The body came with a 14 or 16in bed but it won't fit either, looks like the rear frame is made for a 20" bed so I will sell the small one and get a longer one. I also got an 8" Ford rear end out of an old Fairlane that may not have to be narrowed. I got all the above parts for $750 so even if it takes some extra work it should be ok.
I have a perfect running 350/700R4 that I plan to put in the car.
I suppose my first thing will be to accumulate a complete front end, rear suspension, motor and trans mounts and brake mount, then figure out where the body will sit before sending all that to be welded in and set up. I may try and find a better body if I can't figure out how to mount this one as I have no exp. with glassing in a floor or wood supports.

I plan on painting the frame and suspension red, the body satin black with red interior and wheel vintique steel big-n-little wheels

I will post pics as soon as it is light enough

Get a hold of plans from either Spirit or CCR ... they will show you the basics.

What part of LA are you in?

Now I am changing projects again...
Found a deal on an almost complete Total Performance car and bit the bullet, going to sell the other body and chassis ASAP

The new car is MUCH MUCH more complete,
Chassis is complete, painted and rolling

Still to do:
Steering box and column
Run brake lines
Install radiator
Install wiring
Get a windshield, gauges, shifter and gas pedal
Paint the body and install interior

Seems like alot when it is all typed out but really shouldn't be that bad, I plan on putting a pretty decent cam in the motor before I go much farther and replacing the Holley carb (I hate them, anyone want to trade????) for an Eldelbrock. The chassis is black and I have decided on painting the body a dark purple with alot of pearl and metalflake in it maybe some white and blue pearl flames (budget pending) and grey interior.

I will post some pics as soon as I get some!
