Non T Bucket Question

I know it's not a T Bucket question but I need some help.

My son has a 2008 Audi A4 as his daily driver. We had to replace the battery in it over the weekend and he lost/needs the code for the radio. I looked on line and one site wants $79 for the code.

Do any of you folks have any ideas other than going back to the dealer?
Do any of you deal with that stuff?

Thanks,

Bill

Check the owners manual, sometimes they put it in writting somewhere in the manual. If not go to a non dealer at a shop that works on Audi they may give you the code if you grease them a bit...

Usually, that's the case. The owners's manual has the code or at least it comes with the car. He bought the car used and there was no code with it. The non-dealer is a good idea.

Thanks,

Bill

There's a VW/Audi shop here in Memphis called Wolfsburg Automotive. They might have a clue as to how to proceed. http://www.wolfsburgauto.com/

Awesome, they are some really great guys.

Here is something I found on line. Don't know if it will work, but it's worth a shot:

My friend, I was the same problem. youdont need to remove any radio. is just a code.
I went this morning to Audi dealer and they do the following:

1.) press P.SAN & RBDS AT THE SAME TIME.
2.) Appear the number 1000
3.) press 1 and scan. until number 4
and you get your code.

press again the P.scan & rbds

enter the new code.
appears number 1000.
press 1 until you get the number
press 2 until you get the number.
until number 4.

that was all I saw.
