Notching the body to fit the frame

First, do you always notch the body to fit over the frame? The reason you do?

Second, do you have to notch the body? Pros & Cons?

Thanks for the replies. So you notch the body so it's flush with the bottom of the frame??? And then lay your wood floor across the top of the rails on the frame? Correct?

Notching the body (channeling) give the car lower appearance but is done at the expense of the floor moving up inside the body... I'd say 95% or more t-buckets are channeled to go over the frame...
 
Yes, and if you have no opening door it is going to be easier to hop in.
