Look how the steering box is mounted so far back. I would like to have seen this with the body on it.

That HAD to look like some kind of cartoon car with the body mounted.

Looks fine to me.
Seeing the A spring at the back Im picking that the body sat high and there was no pickup bed on thew back. Possibly a beer barrel or similar for a gas tank.

Add heaps of flake paint, and apply thre 'if it dont move, then chrome it" philosophy and you have a cool little hot rod.

Cheers

Steering a bit far back? Would you want to be sitting any closer to the front end if you didn't have front brakes?

That was common in the '60's to have the column mounted straight up. It didn't do much for the handling but it did leave more room for your feet. BTW that's a 'T' spring on the back. 14" beds where more popular back then too.

It is fine straight up it is how far back it is mounted. Seat must be over spring.

If the body is pushed right back to the kick, witch i would think it would be with a 14" box, you would only need 15 inches or so for the seat. The bracet laying on the frame rail is the column suport. Often times these were between the seat riser and the column jacket.
