Got to drive to Davenport next week and i am going to stop at Pete and Jakes in peculiar mo. I drive right past it i will take a pic or two and post them next weekend when i return.

You'll also drive past Prairie Meadows so you can stop in and play the ponies and lose some money. Be careful in I-80 east of Des Moines, especially when you get over near Coralville/Iowa City. The drivers are nuts over that way. Even worse than the drivers on I-44 between Tulsa and Joplin.

I talked to Jerry (Jason) today, about manufacturing some rear chrome coilover shocks for the Billet-T. The four that came in a box with the car, won't work size wise as well as being way to stiff for 1700#. Jesse, my mechanic it going to the Pamona Auto Swap, which I believe is next weekend. I gave him a pickup load of parts to peddle for me. Coilovers, chrome shocks, black springs, Edelbrock intake, radiator shell, and a bunch of other stuff I will never use. Yeh right! I have probably another $500 in chrome sockethead bolts, nuts, and washers, that I am not giving away. Those chrome things are EXPENSIVE!! I paid $7.69 ea for chrome acorn nuts, today.

geez! Whatever happened to 20 cent bolts.

I am in need of some rear coilovers what do you want for them . Mine are to short.

Rooster wish I had seen this post in time ,would have driven out to pete and jakes (about 45 mins ) to meet you, would be nice to meet the people on here. ..Francis

When you say the coils are too stiff, it is because the mounts are not correct for the weight of the car, remember leverage, you can run ANY coil when using the correct leverage, if you think your coils are too stiff, move then towards the center of the chassis more when using a straight rear axle, or tilt the top in towards the center of the chassis when using an IRS, or bring the complete mounting inboard more for a softer ride... Just the facts mam, that is what Jack used to say.. hehe

Yea Francis i was on my way to Davenport and my company reginal office is in Lees Summit Mo. If i go back to LS i will hollar at ya and we can have lunch .

The shocks are also too long for the range and also the mounting hole at the bottom is to close the swingarm and won't allow for any angle, just straight up. That puts them about 2" outside the framd, ha! The last think I wanted to do was drop another grande for rear coilovers.

Just change the mounting of the coilovers, do not spend money for nothing.... and remember this, if you have chrome coils or any type of spring, check to see if they were backed in an oven, to get rid of the hydrogin imbrittlement caused by the chroming process... not a good idea to run them otherwise, as they break pretty easy that way... Just my 2 cents... :)

Ted, The shocks have Made in the USA, HC - 360, and P5111 stamped on them. No manufacturer, They are adjustable. They are so long that the range of the wishbones won't accept them.
