Progressive carb linkage?

This car has a tunnel ram (it's polished so I don't know what brand) and two 450 Holleys (#9776). The carbs are set up 1-1 that is both primaries operate at the same time. Would a progressive linkage setup be better. Right now it feels like it has an all or nothing type of throttle. Thanks.

I running the dual plane Edelbrock manifold with two 500 cfm Edelbrocks and progressive linkage. I'm only running on the rear carb until about 4500 rpm, then the front carb kicks in. With vac secondaries, I cruise on only the rear carb primaries.

I always get a little better gas mileage with progressive linkage on 2 4's, but truth be told, I doubt that any of us really need multiple carbs. Nevertheless, I always adhere to the belief that if some is enough, too much is just right.

Not having to suffer with driving with 2-4s, but it sounds like changing the ratio of the opening rate might help also. I think a longer fulcrum on the throttle shaft would accomplish this.

After doing a little searching it looks like progressive with this setup is the way to go. I ordered a Lokar kit and made a new throttle cable bracket.

Hey guys, I'm finally back. Had a little health problem. Getting old I guess. Anyways.....
Yes, progressive is the way to go....a street motor doesn't need all that carb. Our Mike will fill you in on the technical stuff!.
I'd just finished a old 70's T....repowered it for the fella......put 2 -600 daul feeds on it. Took a page from our Ted Brown, Blocked off the rear 2 barrels on both carbs, (jets and metering plates are gone.....the float adjusters is fastened from the inside.
For all the world....it looks great! Just 2 2bbl carbs up top! Great throttle response, has a old 427 Vette motor in it, late 60's model. I'll smoke the tires no problem, doesn't load up, good and crisp throttle response.

Welcome back.

Thats a slick idea for the dual setup.

Welcome back. Sorry to hear about the health issue. This getting old stuff isn't for sissies, is it?

We used to block one hole in each carb on the V-6. You just want to be sure you are not allowing any air flow through and you're good to go.

Did you by any chance try the combination before blocking the secondaries? I'm betting a back-to-back A-B test would have been a real eye-opener.
