Rear Tires Rub Body

My rear tires are going to be real close to the body in the rear, I like the look. There is plenty of room for the tires to move up and down. I'm concerned if the body leans, the tires will rub. Going into a parking lot across an apron at an angle, etc. Should I install a anti-roll bar in the rear to lock it in?

I've only got about 2 inches, maybe 2 1/2.

I specifically had custom back-spaced rims made so my rear tires would tuck in real tight. I have maybe an inch. With the couple thousand miles I have put on my car, I've never had it rub. My rear suspensionis a 4 link with a panhard bar and coil-overs. I hit a few hard bumps that actually made the panhard bracket on the axle puncture the trunk floor. (that was fun to fix!) Even with that, the suspension travels basically up and down and has very little lean. Now maybe if I was road racing it...:thumb:

I don't have a great pic from the rear yet...but here is a 3/4 action shot which should give you an idea on how close my tires are.

You should be okay. If it ever leans enough to rub the body, you'll be about ready to tip over. You'll have other things going through your mind or your shorts. Depending on your nerves.

How about wheel spacers?? you could gain 1/2 inch or so on each side.

It has alot to do with what kind of tires you are running. If you have tall dirttrackers like I have with thin 2 ply sidewalls and alot of tire between the rim and top of tire (bulge) then you will prolly get alot of flex and side movement when you turn a corner. My tires are 34" tall on 15" rims so there is 9 1/2" from the rim to the topside of the tire. Had a friend that had Goodyear dirttrackers with a Jag rearend and not much clearence between the tires and body and he had rubber donuts on his body. My tires clear by 3" or so so have never had a problem.

I would think DOT M/T or Hoosiers would be better but I don't know.

I already purchased the tires, Mickey T 15 x 16 wide S/R radials. I need to buy the wheels and was wondering how to figure out the back spacing with about 2" clearance from the body. I 've looked on line but could only find how to measure the wheel for back spacing. I want to order the correct wheels. Any help so I don't make a mistake.

Sorry off topic, but Ben where did you get your exhaust or is it a custom deal, I tried sending a message but couldnt
thanks John
