I have a7.5 rear end out of a Malibu. It's shocks mount under the axle. I plan on building a ccr chassis. Can I run this set up or will I have to make new shock mOunts for the top of exile axle Thank you.

Sounds like WORK! (Maynard G. Krebs says). I'd check with CCR, then probably use their rear end. Unless you are a good welder and like DIY.

Check the width on that to make sure that it will look good with your body. Usually those rears are very wide relative to a T body and they end up looking a little strange. Also be very careful welding on those axle tubes. It doesn't take much to warp them out of shape. S10 rears are perfect for the application and usually can be had for cheap

I Am on a tight budget. I already have the rear end. I can weld. I love d.I.y. stuff. That's why I'm welding up my own frame from their plans. Thanks

The Malibu rear end is the same width ad the s10. Some swap in s10 rear ends on the Malibu to Gerry disc brakes on them.
It sounds like the perfect rear for you then. Most guys just cut off all the existing mounts from the modern axles and weld on whatever they need. I don't know what the rear looks like so it's hard to tell if you can use the existing mounts or not. Some pics would help. It also depends on what suspension you are using. Coil-over, transverse leaf?
