STEP UP!

The time has come. I find it very difficult to get into my doorless bucket. I need to add a step. Probably bolt it to frame. But of course I want it to look cool. Any ideas? Show me pics of what you've done.

I have seen monster trucks with some kind of lift to assist entry. Would be tough to hide for e bucket. My door is the whole side opens. The door on a bucket is smaller than my butt!

Spanky! Are you confused or just having a moment?
(LOL) I've been known to have 'moments' before. Like when I forgot to grease my wheel bearings before driving my bucket for the 1st time. Result: seized wheel bearing on the passenger side. However, I still don't know what a "vacuum powered escalator" would be on a T-bucket. Explain . . .

Send me all your money, we can discuss the escalator along with the bridge I have for sale in New York.

The short piece is 2x3x0.120". The other pieces are 1x3x0.120". It will hold anything you throw at it. Tested to 330+ lbs and 10 years of use.

I find a step a matter of taste. Some like them and think they are another neat detail, some prefer a clean, simple look.
While it is a simpler, easier modification than making your door functional, I would consider how much longer the step would add for your ability to enter/exit versus making the door open. A functional door is more time and effort, but would probably allow you to enjoy the car longer and increase value more.
As a measure of how much it would help, you could bring along a step stool or one of those dirt bike stands for the 6-8 inches of step to get in and out.

I've seen a number of buckets with the doors completely missing. I'm not a fan, but everyone has different ideas.
This one sure is different!

BTW, if the idea of cutting up your car and making your door functional is daunting, CCR's body is not horribly expensive. What about a swap?

Another with the doors (plus some) cut out. 😣

Reminds me of the way you see kids in their jeeps with no doors. Isn't there a famous T-bucket called "leg show?"

There you go! My door will be a little longer but that’s my idea. When I had my dragster I had a fold up motorcycle foot peg sticking out of the side. No pix. Sorry.
