Straight Posts

Rick, Glad you entered that last post about going to a taller windshield, as the short one does you no good to speak of, still too many bugs in your face, or your passengers, and that is NOT GOOD!! hehe Women hate the harsh blast of the wind... As for those that say it is leaning forward, it is supposed to be at the exact same angle as your firewall, one in the same as they say. Thanks I think your ride is a very Beautiful car, and now even more-so :) windshield brace rods make a T Bucket a T Bucket, what more can I say?? NOTE: Make then with rubber muffler hanger washers at the frame end, so as to give them a bit of movement, keeps them from breaking... if you want a pic, I will E-M you one... Have fun with your ride...
I was going to a headlight stand mount with the support rods.what do you think?Your very kind about my car Ted.

Rick, Headlight mounts should be JUST that and no more, (unless they are bullet proof like mine)you would hate it if they were to break at night :( I know you just do not want to mess with your paint, I would not either, so I would make the new frame mounted brackets bolt on, either tap the frame if 3/16" or through bolts, Two 1/4" bolts should be OK 5/16" if you must, about a 2 1/2 long rounded strap, with an angled tab welded in the center, chrome or painted ?? your choice :)

Thanks Ted i'll look into plan "B".

Ted: That's a good idea . Why couldn't you use the Speedway windshield wiper or mirror clamps for the top mounting of the windshield braces> I'm needing the same thing. Could you post a pic of the rubber mounting you and Rick were talking about?

The windshield brace rods do a lot of work, especially at freeway speeds... I have seen a windshield torn out of the fiberglass body, when they were not mounted correctly, with only the bolts holding the strain, where the body itself should hold the big strain, and the bolts only hold the posts in place...Here are 3 looks at my rods, they are old and have been through many many hard miles, over many not so good a road as well... Without the rubber, they would have broken a long time back...
Well DARN!!! when uploading a 640 pic and it says it is too large a file, I see larger pics uploaded to this before.. So no pics I guess, that was the whole point of this answer... Error This file was too big to upload ???

To put larger pics in your post you need to first post them to Photobucket or some other pic holding service then get the IMG code at the bottom then post that code in your post.Easy Eh?

I'm also going with a 22 inch one piece windshield with stainless support rods.
Hey Rick, what are you doing with your old windshield???? I'd be interested in it, if your gonna get rid of it! call me 239-464-3755.

Thanks, Mark
