Sort of in the planning stage,460's seem aplenty so I'm rounding up parts.weighing my options,I've seen that a particular set of heads uses bbc header configuration. So im aware of some options, not all. Thats why im here askin Q's..

A couple of good sites for 460 tech are 460ford.com and 429-460.com. I hope it is alright that I post that, if it is a problem Mike let me know.
Basically you have your standard passenger port size, the larger scj size then there is a Blue Thunder head with a BBC pattern as well as the A460, EX514 head that uses a BBC pattern. You can make pretty good power with ported passenger heads but you will have so much into them by the time you are done that it can be almost cheaper just to buy a new aluminum head. The Ford SCJ heads can be had for about $1500 now and will support 600-800 hspr easily. By far the best bang for the buck. After that there is the new Kaase P51 head that can take you above that.

Be carefull when using Schoenfield sprint car headers on a T bucket. You need to tell them it is going on a T bucket when you order them. You need about 10" to 12" from the header flange to the first bend so they will clear your frame and draglink. Normal Sprint car headers only come out a few inches before the first bend. I bought some cheap Boom Tube headers from Speedway for $75 I was gonna modify to fit the bucket. Still sitting in a closet with other parts. Maybe a winter project.
With 460 cubic inches, 400-450 horses is really easy to hit. Remember, thats only 1 horse per cubic inch...Theres plenty of buildups on this level, and you can do it using mostly stock parts.
If you ever want to light it up....you can get on out there to 550 and larger with new rotating assemblies....
Just from my experience, a mildly built blown BB ford usually runs about 540 horses with 7 to 8 PSI boost pressure. Thats @ 5000 rpm....plus MUCHO torque...comparable to the BBC's....
