I was looking at the requirements for a special construction car. In Iowa. Says needs fenders and exhaust shields for side pipes. Anyone who has recently. Had their car inspected please let me know how strict they are.

I am from n/w Iowa and had my T inspected a year ago. Long story short, Fenders and bumpers required to pass. I have roadster headers and this presented no problem with the inspector. I made fenders from 2 trailer fenders I bought at Northern Tool and cut in half for the 90 degree coverage requirement. Rear fenders and bumpers were held on the rear axle tubes with 2 muffler clamps on each side for quick removal after inspection. Front bumper was bolted to frame with 1/4 inch bolts on each side. Also needs a wiper on driver side and came off after inspection.Inspector was a rodder and understood the fenders and bumpers comming off but need to be on to pass. The inspector did not lean on or touch the bumpers or fenders for strength. A real hassle and extra expense to the build but worth it to be on the road. Hope this helps, Oscar

Thanks Oscar.mounting the bumpers is what I am worried about.
