I don't get these guys driving their rice burners that have those low profile tires (the ones with less than 2" of rubber between the rim and the road)!
One good pothole, especially in Chicago) and there goes a $1,000 wheel!
As far as junk yards with older cars, some years back when we were having the "Cash for Junkers" program, the dealers were destroying the engines in those older cars by pouring some crap down the carb that would freeze up the engines rendering them useless and destroying our supply of good old parts.
Sorry, it's got nothing to do with big tires.
