vacuum source

Since list 9776, 450 holley's don't have a provision for a pcv line, would it appropriate to use the port on the side of the "log" on a a edelbrock street tunnel ram for the pcv ? or would it be better to put a spacer plate under 1 of the carbs w/a vacuum port in it for this purpose? or, does it matter where vacuum is sourced? thanks in advance, dave

Really doesn't matter as long as its a direct connect to manifold vacuum. Carb spacer, intake manifold port all the same as far as this goes.

One thing you want to be care of is if you are tapping the manifold for your PCV, don't put it on a single runner. That cylinder will then run lean and you will oil foul the plug. Don't ask how I know...

I'm no a fan of introducing the resultant oil vapor to the baseplate of the carb anyway.

o.k. so the plug/port provided in the side of the plenum/ "log" of the tunnel [feeds all cylinders ?] should be the "right place" to get vacuum from, Right?

That will work. It will be a pretty lazy vacuum signal in that big plenum, so far away from the cylinders, but it should be the most even signal you are going to find in that intake.

Thanx mike, engine holds 13" at idle, 18" to 19" going down the road at 2500 rpm, that oughta work ,eh?
