From what I've read about model T's were only painted black until 1926 and then they introduced a few other colors because the competition was offering other colors besides black..

Famous Henry Ford quote, "They can order the Lizzy in any color as long as it's black!" You'e right Bruce, blue, green, brown, red and black in '26.

Ford used other colors on the early cars but black paint was the only color for the price that would dry fast enough for the assembly line speed. fenders and small parts were dipped but the bodies were painted after the interior was done using a flat garden hose sprayer device and a touch up brush... There was a rain gutter on the assembly line to catch the drips and reuse it. original T's I have had had a lot of runs in the paint. when you try to power sand the runs off an original body the paint melts and and smears.

the paint in the gutters ran to the dip tanks.

I have pics here someplace showing the spray painting line the "spray guns"were what looks like 4 shower heads mounted on about a foot long section of pipe so you have a round shower head about every 4 inches in a line this formed a "T" at the end of about a 3 foot section of pipe there was a hose hooked to the back end of this pipe "handle" the paint was in a trough under the line and it was just like using the dish sprayer in the sink! The paint just poured out of those shower heads not a mist the paint flowed off the bottom of the body back into the tank below the line.
