There's a place to do introductions ......scroll down........

Dan, it would be best to use something to keep the posts aligned to one another and 90° to the cowl/dash top. That way you can figure out the best way to attack the fit problem. You don't want to simply fit the posts to each side and not have them match angle wise (if that's a word). Having a frame would make your job easier, but at this point you can't really know the width. Once you get the width dimension, decide the height and style (square top, round top or no top) and we (CCR) can build it to your needs.

I got my frame back from the glass shop today. They sure beat the hell out of the chrome. And stripped one of the screws that attaches the bottom to the sides. :(

Sorry, we don't sell or install the glass. Those bottom threads are deep, for that reason. Maybe they cross-threaded it? I've never had one strip out from torque. That probably is not repairable, (being so close to the channel), so let us know if you need it replaced and we'll get a new one on the way.

Thanks RESINATOR. Do your frames use 3/16" or 1/4" glass? And how is it installed, urethane or setting tape? I've cut glass before but it's been awhile. Would rather just buy one ready to go. Understand the shipping issue though.

I'll look at my frame more tomorrow. What I should have done was cut a template, had them cut the glass and then assembled it myself. Live & learn.

You were correct. They cross threaded the screw. Fortunately it was softer than the threads in the frame. I ran a bottoming tap through it and installed a new screw. Frame is usable now and good as new as far as that goes. Don't know if i can buff all the scratches out of the chrome though. What happened to people providing good service these days? I seem to run into more & more people these day's that have no ethics and don't know their trade. Or worse yet, just don't give a s#$t! Sorry for the rant.

Mine ended up being 40" wide. I bout a 3/4" x 6" board at Lowe's and used that as a guide while setting my windshield posts like mech727. Then called CCR and had my frame built.

Got the windshield bracket mounted by the suggestions above. Worked out great. I even added long nuts into the molds for the bolt from the dash side hole. Thanks for the pictures and advise.

Now, any suggestions and pictures on how to mount the fiberglass radiator shell?
