    Rear brakes

Thanks gang! In response to the many questions I say: Rear wheel cylinder size - I actually can't recall if I bought the largest or the smallest diameter. I believe I was advised to use the larger size for more power. I guess I misspoke. I believe I did install the large diameter. The brakes...

    Rear brakes

The rear drum is 68 F100 11" shoes. I was careful to install them in the proper configuration (front to back) when I replaced them. rims are 15 inch with 11 inch wide Hoosier racing tires. These are a late addition - I had similar width N50 tires before with normal tread. The bore of the wheel...

    Rear brakes

Here is the setup: I use a Mustang master cylinder. I can't remember all the details but it is the second one I've installed in the car. The first one wore out the seal but it had never fully activated the rear brakes. I replaced the master cylinder with another and still no workee. I have...

    windshield wipers

I am not sure if there is a law in Washington, where I live, regarding windshield wipers. If there is then there are a lot of lax State Patrol troopers out there. I have driven the car in Oregon and California as well and never been stopped for the lack of one. There is a temporary clip made by...

    Bed angle.

I think you have all your answers in a straight line just like the bed should be. Ya gotta be an idividual but then you DON"T want 90% of the people who look at the finished car asking why the thing "just doesn't look right". When some onlooker in a parking lot asks me one of those "questions"...

    Would you recommend this body?

I was going to go doorless. But after the body was mounted and it was time to install the dash - Hoo boy! It was a job that entailed climbing in the car and curling up on one side. As usual I'd foget the soldering iron or need a different wire or couldn't find the philips or one thing or...

    Spy photo....

It'll never work! The head gasket will fall off and slow it down.

    gas mileage on t's????

I can't believe what I'm reading! Just drive the ----- thing! Build a T with an original engine if you want mileage. I checked my mileage on a 2500 mile round trip. I got 18 miles to the gallon. Big whoop! I have a small block / cam / fuelly heads / turbo - the usual. I figured out that my...

    Notching rear crossmember?

If that's a 10-bolt then where are the bolts? Unless I'm looking at the wrong picture that is a Ford mustang rearend.

No longer a young mans problem (premature detonation)

Years ago I was told to add one ounce of transmission fluid to every five gallons of gas. It boosts your octane and you don't have to pay the rediculous price at the pump. Worked fine for me. I believe it actually increased my mileage. I had a stock 350 with the turbo. Any one recall that trick?

    Build or Buy?

I got the idea into my head that I wanted a car like the yellow coupe in "American Grafitti". I had a huge mortgage and kids so the bucks were thin. I could only afford a glass T body so I braced myself for reality and ordered one COD. I then stared at it for 2 days. Jeez, it was tiny. I had...

    Spooky from Washington

Funny you should ask as I just tossed it in the junkyard. It was too heavy. I built it out of wood and 2 gallons of Bondo. It looked OK but I started to realize I never drove with the top on and it took 2 people to put it on - so adios MF.

I wrote Sitting Ducks - Tales of the Saigon Warriors. I like writing so much that I thought I'd write a "How To". But you know the rest.

    Spreading the word.

Readin' about the corvette guy got me goin'. I have had 3 of those cars and wow, what a thrill to cruise around in. 20 years after my last vette I got interested in building my T. I didn't have the faintest idea how to accompish the task but every time I saw a model A hotrod I would follow the...

    Spooky from Washington

If you mean the one on how to build a hotrod for $5K the answer is no. My computer crashed and I lost 90% of my step-by-step photos. I could probably explain the process of saving money in a couple pages to anyone capable of actually building one. The theory relies on buying an 80's GM product...

    Turning radius

My T turns fine. I cut off the end hole on the double tie rod arm and drilled another one on the opposite side of the hole for the tie rod. I used the original tie rod hole for the drag link. I had to move the hole on the other arm forward to match up. It turns almost as sharp as my wifes...
