Greetings fellow hot rodders! Thanks to a phone call to Ron Pope, I now know how to post new threads, so figured I would start by introducing myself. I'm 66, not terribly tech savvy, but have always been good with cars (with carbs!).
First t bucket I built about 20 years ago now, drove like there was no tomorrow for about 12 or 13 years, then decided to tear it apart for "real" paint (not rattle can). Stored the body in our pole barn and one night in the middle of the night, the whole barn went up in flames. Lost my performance boat, lots of stuff.
After a couple years trying to figure out what to do, the little woman (Gail, now married 44 years) suggested a body big enough to haul 4. So my t tub was born. Unfortunately, some significant health problems sidelined me for a good while, so I'm just finishing up details on it now. Everything's been painted except the body and a few other things. Chassis is done in medium blue and medium gray as is the jaguar IRS. 1971 400 sbc (now 406), built from the bottom up and blue, as is the 700R4. Body and other items will be purple metallic by a pro ($$$). Has 2 SS 1/2 kegs all plumbed for gas on the stake rack. Has Weld Draglite wheels front (15 X 3.5") and back (15 X 8), has new tires on the front, and will order some new Cokers for the rear this week.
Still a lot of detail and stuff to do, but it's getting there. It is truly a labor of love for me.
