Rear Axle- Is Posi/Limited Slip All That Important?

I've found a rear axle for my pile of parts (I can't call it a car as I haven't started to build it yet, lol), it's an S-10 2wd with 3.73 gears, non-posi.

Is it really all that important to have posi in a T-bucket? My GN has it and I can feel the clutches grabbing when I round corners. I can understand having it in my GN, because of the power and my occasional Mustang/Camaro hunting expeditions, but is it really needed in our light weight cars?

I've never used a posi rear end in several street rods I have built. There are various reasons IMO. First posi units are more expensive and I always seem to be on a budget. Second in a light t-bucket with a short wheelbase if the rear end gets out from under you, you will go round like the music in a heartbeat. And third, with a peg-leg rear end if you spin tires off the line (by accident, of course) you still go straight. My final answer: no you don't need a posi in a t-bucket.
