Will it ever end???

I got the brakes replaced and thought I would give it a test try. About the time I hit the gas I heard this sound then the driveshaft hit the road. Time for a new driveshaft.

My understanding is it doesn't matter how much horsepower you have in a T-Bucket, you still can't make it hook up.

I hope the rest of the car around the drive shaft is fine.

You beat me to it Ron I just read his post and that amazing.
David most of the underside is alright, I do need a new fan for the trans cooler and some touch up paint, but other than that I'm in pretty good shape. And it did hook up pretty well. The new shaft will be steel and not aluminum. I guess I'm still looking for the next weakest link.

Are you guys not required to have a driveshaft loop fitted to get rego? We have to down here, so we dont spit driveshafts into the road - we bust other stuff instead!

That bucket launch is incredible. I wish my bucket could launch like that.

Just for curiosity, what broke? The drive shaft, or the u-joint?

The shaft was what broke, it was at the end that holds the universal. The driveshaft was a shortened Corvett aluminum which I thought would work. I went out yesterday and am having a new one made which the guy say would not break. From looking at one he had there it looks 10 times stronger than the one I had. We will see.

No, It was an enclosed driveshaft. (tourqe tube)
