Thanks guys, but I can't 97% of the credit. It was built 18 years ago by a Hollywood special effects tech. I only changed 5 items so as to raise the fuel mileage from 13 MPG to 23 MPG and better street manners. The rear tires was one of the 5 items changed and are now Mickey Thompson SR radials, size 30X12.00R15LT and here is the M/T link http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/street.php?item=SportsmanSR

I like it, looks great! :winkn:

Great lookin car . Thanks for the info. have you had any trouble balancing them? I have been told that the MT can be a bear to balance

Very well done, Now I have to work on mine more after seeing yours...

I had to laugh when i read that you couldn't take the credit for this other guys work. I was married once before my wife now of 29 years. She says i was a project and wasnt worth owning until she got her hands on me. Mabye a good analogy for a second hand hot rod as well Ha Ha

Rooster I work as a mechanic and when we get big tires we have leaned towards products like these.tire balance these seem to keep the tires in balance even if they have adverse wear.

The smaller M/T Bias tires had one that would set up a vibration and scared the dyno tech. It had radials in front and should have had radials on the rear. Going to a larger diameter rear radials had 2 positive results, gearing it higher for better mileage (along with the lower rolling resistance of a radial) and giving the circle track oil pan a much needed increase of ground clearance. Balancing the M/T radials was no problem, very pleased with the ride and better traction.

Bob,

Thanks for the comments. There are alot of unknowns about my T. I hunted for the Track-T style with a four cylinder engine and the paint job on this one did the trick for me. The car is running a Pinto 4.3L with an automatic trans (the PO replaced the manual) and a Ford 9" rear. The PO had the car for quite a few years so right from the start I needed to do alot of repairing and upgrading. The day it came off the transporter, my wife drove it into the garage, the trans seals leaked and it puked all over the garage floor. That's where we started. I think it's almost where I want it to be now. The car weighs about 1,760 with a full tank but I don't have any specs on the engine or rearend. Can't give you MPG details yet either because I didn't get very much driving in last year due to all the repairs and there is no tank sender but I'm working on calculating the MPG to avoid running out of gas (again). Hope to replace the tank in the near future and add a sender. I'm pleased with the ride but it bottoms on real bumpy roads so I'm in the market for new rear coilovers. We're looking forward to more miles this year.

Thanks for the quick reply, you can ignore all the other threads I've tried to reach you on. Is the engine a 2.3 L ? Too bad we are so far apart as it would be cool to cruise our cars together.
