Are there other places besides Ebay to find cars and parts? I'm not a fan of Craigslist and Ebay leaves something to be desired.

I've been there many times. What I'm looking for is a model A body

there is a body, made from a 2de sedan and a full frame set up as a hiboy with a sbc, super bell dropped axle with bones, and a triangulated 4-bar rear with coilovers. it's lookin for a new home. it told me just yesterday it wanted to live in Iowa!

it's all tucked away now. let me know if you're interested. i'll dig it out for pics. pm me for the price.

Thanks Ron. I'm trying to keep my Bonneville dream alive. There are so many different rules for the different classes. To run a 27 I would have to go in the modified roadster class and that's a lot more technically challenging to build. Wheelbase can be up to 195" and that's a lot of frame to build and bodywork in front of the cowl to create but the Pro-form glass body can be used. The rules in all of the roadster classes allow glass bodies but they have to be an 'exact' replica and the tolerances are very precise. They don't give the pluses or minuses in the rules and I think a lot of the measurements are at the discretion of the inspectors but I know that the Pro-form body has passed their inspection in the past. A lot of the other glass model T roadster bodies have been extended or widened, or both, for the street rodders and they won't pass muster.

A gas roadster or a street roadster will be a lot easier, relatively speaking, but either of these classes has to be a 1928 or newer (up to 1938). I haven't been able to find a glass model A roadster body and I don't think I want to risk building one with a glass body then run the risk of throwing it all away if the body is out of spec. I wouldn't have that worry with a steel body. I found and almost bought a 1931 coupe rat rod project in the internet a few years ago for $2500 and I'm sure I should be able to find a model A roadster body for a reasonable price somewhere.
