Went to a car show yesterday at a Senior Living facility. Low key affair, no judging, but the residents really appreciated it. Loved to reminisce about cars in their past. The couple pictured did not enter a car, but thought it fun to dress for the period. Looked like they stepped out of Downton Abbey!

I'm going to die in my sleep or a bad wreck at high speed. Never will I go to a hell hole for someone to abuse me.
If disabled to the point of no mobility, my 3 children will take care of me.

You and me both! I hope! I have seen too many horror stories. I told my family to just roll me out in the woods with my politically incorrect noise maker and say goodbye. I know about being at other’s disposal from being paralyzed in an industrial accident in ‘97... not for me!

NO Guaranties in LIFE. YOU are responsible for EVERYTHING you say and do!!

No such thing as an ACCIDENT---Everything is preventable---if people would just pay attention to what's going on around them.

Yea, well if you would like to walk a mile in my shoes, you might change your tune... no offense intended or taken... some truth to your words, but unless you are a super human, you cannot be accountable to “pay attention” to everyone and everything around you. I hope you do not get to understand this reality first hand, as others have. Not everyone who was injured in an “accident” is an idiot! Others do cause them! Had the idiots that caused my accident done their job, as I was, it would have saved me a lot of misery and them a LOT of money. Tread softy and pay attention, life is short. Btw, I overcame the paraplegia, but NOT the associated pain related to spinal fusion. I wish that experience on no one.

Never said it was your fault in your "accident", just saying it was preventable.
No all are not idiots, but the idiots are ones you have to look out for as they are the ones that get you hurt
Yes I have been hurt and killed by others stupidity. Died twice and revived by the same nurse 10 years apart. Another Story.

Ok, got it. I took it wrong. I am a bit touchy about it, had numerous people, lawyers, etc try to blame me for the incident... Yes, preventable, if only everyone paid attention or communicated. Seems like the ones that get hurt aren’t the ones that were negligent. In retrospect, most accidents are preventable, but hind sight is just that. In my case, there were numerous contractors working on a big building, state contract, we were general, but the other primary contractors did not answer to us. Basically, no one was accountable and some became careless, lazy, and took short cuts. That is what led to my essential death, as the person I was prior to that moment no longer exists. Funny, the prior day, I was doing very dangerous work, the day I was hurt, I was basically walking across a flat roof, no danger, not knowing that they had cut the decking underneath, which gave way, causing me to fall forty feet to concrete... How do you prevent that from my perspective? If only someone would have marked it on top, or put a piece of plywood down, anything.... no, they were too lazy, didn’t think about or care about the guys working on top. I was the only one of three guys on top that was actually working and I was going over to correct another’s mistake as we were finished with everything else... so many “if only’s”.

Yes negligence and stupidity in your case and a Lawyer would get you compensation but no respite from the pain and suffering. Life goes on and not easy but you do the best you can. NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!
